Artistic Director: Jim Alexander
Jim Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in vocal performance from Grand Canyon University. He taught voice at the university for two years in addition to conducting New Life Singers, a contemporary vocal ensemble. Jim also earned his elementary education certification from Ottawa University and has taught in the Isaac School District. Jim has provided music leadership in several valley churches, vocal performance groups, and has also been a part of the Phoenix Symphony Chorus. He is currently serving The Church of the Palms, UCC as Minister of Worship and Fine Arts.
Pianist: Brandon Hang

Brandon Hang is a native Arizonan. He began studying classical piano at age 6 with Annie Taylor-Scott and Marilyn Wheaton. He has enjoyed participating in many genres of piano performance over the years, including choir accompaniment, musical theater, classical recitals, and jazz bands. For three years, he was the pianist for Paradise Valley Community College’s Little Big Band where he studied and received direction from Adam Roberts, Russell Schmidt, Ben Hedquist, Zachary Wiggins and Pam Morita. He has played piano at The Nash, the Clarendon Hotel Skydeck, the Lost Leaf, and other venues around the Valley. Most recently, he’s been a member of Desert City Jazz, and is also the pianist for Church at Cactus in Peoria.
In Spring 2021, Brandon graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is employed as a software engineer.
Secretary: Margaret Wright
Margaret is a retired lawyer and investment banker who, after growing up in the Midwest and living for 20 years on the East Coast, has lived in Arizona for over 20 years. She is a photographer and digital artist and volunteers with several non-profit organizations. Although she hasn’t sung with an all-women’s group since college, she has been singing with choral groups most of her adult life.
Treasurer: Autumn Wright
Autumn has been working in property and office management for over fifteen years. Her expertise spans a multitude of areas including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, audits, and collections. She currently works for Willowcreek Apartments in Tempe, Arizona, where she manages a portfolio of over 600 accounts. Ms. Wright’s leadership skills include training and mentoring others in the industry.
Social Media Manager: Anya Morrison
Anya is currently living it up in the Phoenix area, working at a local charter school. She loves to sing and has been singing since she was a little girl. She’s very excited to have found Valley WE. This is her fourth season and she hopes to continue for many more!
Webmaster: Sarah Maschoff
Sarah is a digital marketer, copywriter and editor located in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from a small town in Mississippi, Sarah is a graduate of Arizona State University and Barrett, the Honors College. An active member of Valley Women’s Ensemble, Sarah is proud to be working and singing with such a wonderful group of ladies (and Jim)!
